Quick installation guide

Prerequisites

Before beginning the installation, ensure you have:

  • Proper SAP BASIS Admin authorizations.

  • Access to transaction code SAINT (SAP Add-On Installation Tool)

  • The CloudFeed SAP addon installation package (SAR file)

  • System backup completed

  • Access to the application server where the installation will occur

  • Install SSL certificates of data target in STRUST transaction code.

  • Set icm/HTTPS/client_sni_enabled to TRUE


Installation Steps


1. Prepare for Installation

  1. Log in to your SAP system client 000 with a user that has SAP Basis Admin Authorisations

  2. Create a system backup if not already done

  3. Ensure no users are active in the system during installation

  4. Either copy the CloudFeed SAP addon SAR file to the application server ( /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in folder) or use transaction code SAINT to upload SAR File from SAP Frontend in the third step.


2. Launch SAINT Transaction

  1. Open SAP GUI

  2. Enter transaction code: SAINT

  3. The "SAP Add-On Installation Tool" screen will appear


3. Import SAR File

  1. In SAINT, select "Installation Package" → "Load Packages"

  2. Enter the path to the CloudFeed SAR file

  3. Click "Open" to load the archive

  4. Verify the package details displayed match the expected CloudFeed addon version


4. Install the Addon

  1. From the SAINT main screen, select "Installation"

  2. The CloudFeed addon package should appear in the queue

  3. Select the package

  4. Click "Continue (F8)" to start the installation

  5. Review the installation log for any warning messages

  6. Confirm any popups requesting authorization to proceed


5. Verify Installation

  1. Wait for the installation to complete

  2. Check the installation log for any errors

  3. Verify the return code is "0" (successful)

  4. Use transaction SE80 to verify the CloudFeed namespace objects are present. ( /CLF/ )


6. Post-Installation Steps

  1. Activate services:

    • Start the CloudFeed service using the provided activation transaction

    • Verify service status

    • Verify file permissions on the SAR file
